A public concourse and sky-lit atrium that ties three existing buildings into one continuous civic room.
The vision
Three disconnected buildings, three floor heights, one address. The city asked for a room that could hold a market on Saturday and a gala on Sunday.
The execution
A cable-stayed steel truss carries the skylight across a 96-foot clear span with no interior columns, letting us cut new openings through the adjoining structures without loading them further.
