A 1940s foundry converted into retail, studio and light-industrial space without erasing the building's history.
The vision
Preserve the sawtooth roof, the crane rails and the patina of ninety years of work, while making the building perform like new construction.
The execution
We rebuilt the structural bays in board-formed concrete matched to the original pours, added a seismic upgrade hidden inside the new core, and stitched a new mezzanine into the existing columns.
